I got my second chance with Jonah. He told me he was thinking about leaving, but that he decided to stay and try to make it work with me. Things aren’t the same between us anymore, though. He used to talk about wanting to “build a life” with me. He told me he saw us ten years, twenty years in the future. He told me he saw us living together, growing old together.
Now he says things like, “I don’t know if this can work” and “I don’t know what I want” and “I need to think about this.”
That’s been hard. “It sounds like you’re not committed to this relationship anymore,” I said.
“I’m sorry.”
“So why are you here?”
